Virtual Law Enforcement Summit
Tuesday, October 6, 2020 8:30 AM
This free, virtual training for law enforcement from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. will focus on officer mental health and increasing resilience in first responders.
Former police officer and licensed psychologist/author Dr. Stephanie Conn will present on how first responders can take proactive and responsive steps to adaptively respond to chronic stress and trauma.
The session will include a discussion on risk and protective factors that influence wellbeing to assist first responders in understanding their experiences with trauma and stress and how to mitigate their impact, along with a plain-language discussion of the neurobiology of trauma.
Officers Michelle Hill and Henry Moore with the Little Rock Police Department will present on officer mental health.
This training has been approved for six hours of CLEST and CLE.
The Officer of the Year luncheon that traditionally occurs during the Summit has been delayed until early 2021 to ensure that we can all safely gather to recognize our winners.
