The Public Protection Department is seeking to hire an investigator for responsibilities to include informal mediation of consumer complaints, civil investigation of consumer protection law violations, assistance with litigation preparation, responding to constituent inquiries, document processing, data entry, and public speaking on consumer protection issues. The Public Protection Department does not conduct criminal investigations.
Candidates should have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution of higher learning. Job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements.The successful applicant will have experience with computers, common software, case management systems, positive attitude, history of punctuality and reliability in previous employment, experience in dealing with the public, and commitment to public service. Proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
Salary will depend upon relevant experience. Submit a resume and salary requirement by 5 p.m. July 31.
